A year after my husband bought our original flock of sheep, my mum came over from Yorkshire, England.
Her response was simply, "Ooo, just sit me in the middle of the field and I'll knit the wool right off their backs".
This was my motivation to learn how to spin, so I could send handspun yarn to my mum and have her knit a sweater wtih
the wool from my husband's favorite sheep Laurie.
From the time I finished my first skein I was hooked. The whole idea of being able to shear a fleece from a sheep,
wash it, comb it, maybe dye it, and then spin it into yarn was absolutely inspiring.
Now, I am able to pass these skills on to anyone who shows an interest, knowing that once they start it will open a
whole new world of creativity and enjoyment.
If you are interested in learning how to knit or spin, have a look at our classes page or call
